Welcoming divine services
The start of the European Youth Day (EYD) of the New Apostolic Church will be marked, on the evening of Ascension Day, the 21st of May 2009, by divine services in many congregations in Düsseldorf, in the Rhineland and in the Ruhr district. All EYD participants and those accompanying, who are staying with host families, hotels, holiday apartments, guest houses or such, are warmly welcome to attend.
An overview of all the local churches, with their addresses, where welcoming divine services will be held and with the name of the serving officiant is to be found under, “Taking part” / “Where are welcoming divine services”. Thus each group who is staying in local accommodation can locate a nearby congregation.
“Stragglers” can still register
The organisers have announced that the youth can continue to register up to the 21st of May 2009, the starting date of the European Youth Day. In the past weeks the staff of the planning group has continued to receive requests concerning the possibility to make delayed registrations.
Latecomers may continue to register through the EJOS system under the website www.ejt2009. It is necessary that the youth register as a new group. The existing groups cannot be changed, as their sleeping locations have been allocated.
Also, those who now register for the EYD will first receive their participants’ passes on their arrival day when reporting in at the Messe (exhibition centre) Düsseldorf, in the area of the North entrance.
All young people up to the age of 30 (including married couples) are invited to the European Youth Day. Sleeping spaces are still available in the exhibition halls for those seeking accommodation.
An exception to this are the minors. They may not form independent groups on legal grounds. On request, however, these youngsters may be added to existing groups. (E-mail to a n t r a g . e j o s @ e j t 2 0 0 9 . e u).
